AS/400, RPGII

I am currently working as part of the Legacy Support team, supporting users of the Field Cash system around Europe and Africa. The work is all on the AS/400's in various parts of the world but it is written and maintained in RPGII because of the use of Baby/36 in many more remote locations around the world.

HP UNIX, UNIBOL, RPGII

I was on a six month contract at DHL acting as part of the support team of 15 non-DHL staff involved in supporting the Legacy systems at their offices in over 100 countries around Europe and Africa. The work was in the Sales and Marketing Area using RPGII running under Unibol on HP UX-9 and UX-10 equipment. For the latter part of the contract I was involved in devising Test Plans to run against the S&M systems to check the Y2K conversion that was undertaken by a third party company.

IBM Sys/36 using RPGII

I was permanent here for the 24 months as both Computer Supervisor and Trainee Estimator. As supervisor I was in day to day control of the IBM AS/236, having upgraded from a regular D2K Sys/36, and I was been responsible for the implementation of Windows and Lotus Smartsuite on their Novell Network. Enhancements to their existing system were taking place and new programs to deal with the production of Mailing Labels for Customers had been written. More recently I was involved, with one of the directors, in the search for a fully integrated package designed to cover all the requirements of a Printing Company.
